Morality of the Museum
Oil on Canvas (24”x20”), 2022
Political piece about the Sackler family and the wing they were awarded at the Met despite the origins of their money being unjust. Encouraging and pressuring doctors to administer highly addictive substances such as opioids, when not even necessary for treatment of patient. Several protests took place at the Met before action was finally taken by the Met ant the wing was renamed. This raises the question as to whether the Met aligned with our societal morality, or whether they merely caved to avoid further exposure in unflattering light.
