I had the pleasure of joining my fellow NMSU Alumni in an exhibition we titled “Scar Tissue". Our show explored the challenges of being human, collectively, and based on individual encounters.
There are experiences that forever changed us, like the physical scars we all bare. Those moments yield formative power to shape us into the people we want to become. They can defat us and leave us broken and unreceptive to the displays of love we are offered. Or we can find the strength we didn’t know we had and learn how to forgive all, including ourselves.
Extremely thankful to Doña Ana Arts council for working with us and for all the effort they put forth to curate such a lovely and cohesive exhibition.
Our work was up for the entirety of January 2024. In addition to opening night on January 5th, we hosted a second opening January 13th that also included an hour-long artist talk. The audience was invited to ask us questions about the show and individual pieces.
